About Dr. Mascolo

Thank you for visiting my website.  I am a licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist that provides consultation and assessment services for children, adolescents, and adults with learning differences or disabilities.

I endorse a comprehensive consultation and evaluation approach that considers factors both within and outside of the learner to fully understand the learning challenges and to tailor interventions that capitalize on strengths while circumventing the impact of any identified weaknesses.

I specialize in the evaluation of specific learning disabilities and learning concerns.  Initial referrals may include:

In addition to the above, I provide parent consultation and professional development training for school districts and agencies related to assessing, understanding, and intervening with learning difficulties.  I also work with districts as an intervention consultant wherein I teach them how to tailor interventions, using specific resources (i.e., the Intervention Library), while capitalizing on their existing resources, to support struggling learners.

Publications

I have coauthored four books, including the first and second editions of the Achievement Test Desk Reference, Essentials of the WJ III Tests of Cognitive Abilities and Essentials of Planning, Selecting, and Tailoring Interventions for Unique Learners as well as several book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles focused on using and interpreting specific cognitive and academic measures as well as assessing, diagnosing, and intervening with specific learning disabilities.  My most recent project includes co-authorship of an Intervention Library, which is a resource for school districts and practitioners, that includes over 1,000 intervention recommendations to address students’ learning needs.
